Turning point in my career
In September 2018, I commenced a season-long loan to Vitesse Arnhem, a club affiliated with Chelsea, to enhance and refine my skills in the sport. Excited and eager to impress manager Leonid Slutsky, I traveled from Holland to Belgium for a friendly match against Royal Antwerp just a week after joining the club.
During the game, I encountered a challenging situation where the odds were evenly split, and regrettably, it led to a significant injury. As I went in for the ball, my opponent came in with his studs raised, making contact with my knee. The impact left me unable to walk, and it was a painful moment for me.
After the incident, the outlook was grim. The doctors delivered the devastating news that my chances of ever playing football again were just 20 percent. It was a significant setback to endure, and I encountered a lengthy and uncertain path toward recovery.
Despite the setback, I remained resolute in pursuing my football aspirations. The injury posed a substantial challenge, yet I committed to persevering through diligent efforts and determined battle to make a comeback to the beloved sport.
